“My daugher Madison is 13 years old. At the age of 11, she was diagnosed with a mixed receptive and expressive language disorder. We started going to speech therapy with Sheryl [Berg] at the time to help her with her difficulties with language. Madison's main struggles in school have been Math and Reading, due to the amount of language that is required. Over the last few years she has had therapy and she has learned some strategies to cope with understanding language better. Madison was in 7th grade this year and has had a very successful year. It's been amazing to watch her grow academically and become more confident in herself. Ever since 3rd grade, she has had tutoring in Reading and Math, but this is the first year she didn't need tutoring. We attended an awards ceremony for her last week, and she received the academic achievement award for Math and Language Arts! And next week, we will be attending the induction ceremony for her for the National Junior Honor Society.” ~ Jan G.

Preparing for Your First Appointment

“My daughter has been in Speech Therapy for 6 years, both in the private setting and in public school.  As parents, we feel we have finally found our “Speech Home.”  At BASLLA, you are not just a parent of a child with a speech or learning difficulty, but you are truly part of the solution of helping your child reach his or her full potential.  We've found that our child has received more appropriate treatment here and has therapists that were willing to go above and beyond to literally help our daughter find her voice.”
